BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that a political party has no significance if it is not connected with the people.
Hinting at the mass uprising of August 5, he said “If a party or individual becomes disconnected from the people, its fate will be like that of August 5.”
He also instructed party leaders and workers to stay close to the people.
He made these remarks while joining an online workshop on Tuesday, which was organized in Khulna, Satkhira, and Bagerhat districts.
“It is up to the people to decide whether BNP is popular or not. Therefore, the party must always be there for the people and keep them on its side. It is not possible for anyone to solve all problems alone. Everyone must remain patient,” said the acting chairman.
He further added, “BNP won’t maintain relationships with any leader or activist who engages in wrongdoing. People have kept faith in BNP. Those who seek to destroy that trust will not be spared.”
