Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, expressed his vision for a Bangladesh free of discrimination. He made the statement during a rally organized by the Tajhat Thana Jamaat at Abu Sayed Square in Rangpur city, held around 10 pm on Thursday.
Dr. Rahman shared his personal experience, recounting a visit to a Dhaka hospital to see the victims of the July coup. "They were as full of life as you are today," he said. "But now, they face hardship. Despite this, they took to the streets for the country’s independence, and today, we are enjoying that freedom."
He added, "I promised the parents of those who sacrificed their lives for this cause that we will continue the movement until their dreams are realized."
The event was also attended by Maulana Rabiul Islam, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Tajhat Thana in Rangpur metropolis, along with the organization’s central Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim and other leaders.
