Ensuring justice is the primary responsibility of the interim government, said Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, emphasizing the government's commitment to demonstrating a judicial approach distinct from Sheikh Hasina’s administration. He acknowledged that the process may take some time but stressed the importance of fairness in the proceedings.
He made these remarks on Wednesday morning at a conference titled "The July Revolution: Evidence of Atrocity", held at the Bangla Academy.
Asif Nazrul stated, "If we cannot deliver justice, we have no right to exist. We will ensure justice as quickly as possible."
Speaking about reforms in various sectors of the state, he added, "The aim of these reforms is to ensure that no ruler of Bangladesh can become so ruthless in the future."
Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Tazul Islam, mentioned that efforts are underway to prevent the tribunal from being tarnished as it was in the past.
He also noted that investigations are ongoing to identify those who directed the July-August movement from behind the scenes.
Tazul Islam urged the families of the martyrs to allow the legal process sufficient time to ensure justice is delivered properly.
He reassured, "We will take a reasonable amount of time but will not delay justice. Ensuring justice for the families of the martyrs is our commitment."
