Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury urged to expose any mistakes or corruption within the government, reports Jago News 24.
He made this call on Tuesday after inspecting the project titled “History of old Dhaka central jail, preservation of historical buildings, and surroundings development”.
The Adviser said, “If there are any mistakes or corruption within us, please bring them to light. This will make us aware and allow us to make corrections. Please point out our mistakes, but do not highlight areas where there are no errors. Since we are human, mistakes can happen. If there is any corruption, you should inform us that it is happening; I have no objection to that.”
Regarding the project, the Adviser said that the parking space for vehicles is small and needs to be expanded. He further added that the project is progressing well and that the work is being executed efficiently.
He mentioned that the project must be completed within the existing budget, stating, “There is a trend in our country where a budget is created initially, and after a few days, it is said that it needs to be increased. That practice cannot continue. The work must be completed within the current budget.”
The Home Adviser also indicated that a part of the project will be completed within the next six months.
