Amir Khosru, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has stated that reform is a continuous process and it has to be done based on consensus among political parties.
He made these remarks on Monday at a discussion that took place at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
“The notion of reform did not come after Sheikh Hasina had fled. The proposal of reform had come earlier. The ownership of the country must be returned to the people through their votes. Everyone wants to vote, including the young generation. The nation is united. So reformation is needed for a fair election,”said the veteran BNP politician.
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury further said, "It’s unclear whether the remarks that are being made before the commissions submit their reports are personal opinions or the government's own perspective. BNP will take its decision after the reports are submitted."
He further mentioned, “If anyone believes that a specific agenda is the only way to solve national problems, it won’t be good for the nation. The discussion on reformation emerged six years ago. BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia presented a vision called "Vision 2030," which included 31 points aimed at protecting the country's independence and serving the people.”
