Major achievements Bashundhara Group attained in 2022

Bashundhara Group achieved success and international recognition one after another in the year that has just gone as the country's leading business conglomerate always works firmly for the development of the country and its people by taking courageous business initiatives.

The man who plays the key role here is the group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan. Under his dedicated work and guidance, the group has already expanded its periphery to various important sectors of the country.

According to him, “We always take courageous initiatives and have been doing so over the years. Bashundhara Group always stands by the country for its development.”

Like previous years, Bashundhara Group has also received a number of international awards and recognitions in 2022, reports banglanews24.com.

Sayem Sobhan Anvir receives Mother Teresa award

Mother Teresa International Award conferred on Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir for his great contributions to the media industry of Bangladesh.

The Mother Teresa International Award Committee handed over the award to Sayem Sobhan Anvir at a function held at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Kolkata on February 24 in 2022.

Sayem Sobhan Anvir was given a certificate, a memento with a picture of Mother Teresa, shawl and a packet of sweets.

Bashundhara MD honoured with Person of the Year award

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, has won the "Greatest Brand" award while Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir was honoured with the 'Person of the Year' award.

Besides, Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan has won Global Leader of the Year.

The awards were handed over at the 17th Edition of the Asia-Europe Business & Social Forum 2022 held at London Marriott Hotel.

Bashundhara Group MD Sayem Sobhan Anvir gets TRUB Award

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir has been accorded special honouray award at the 28th edition of Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRUB).

He got the award for his contribution to the field of industry, business and sport. Noted litterateur and Kaler kantho editor-in-chief Imdadul Haq Milan received the Award on behalf of Sayem Sobhan Anvir. The award giving ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom at Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital on Thursday.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Safwan Sobhan honoured at Oxford conference

Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan has been honoured at an international conference at the University of Oxford for his excellence in social and business fields.

European Business Assembly (EBA) conferred the ‘Grand Star of Success Award’ to the young business leader of Bangladesh at the ‘New Year Summit of Leaders held in the United Kingdom.

Businessmen, politicians, artists, academics, and scientists from different parts of the world took part in the summit. Since 2000, this event has been very meaningful and respected by various businessmen and creative personalities of the world.

Safwan Sobhan, East West Media receive tax cards & awards

Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir has been awarded tax card and honoured as the best taxpayer in the young category (below 40 years).

Besides, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) awarded tax card and honoured to East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) in the print and electronic media category for the seventh time, a concern of Bashundhara Group.

They were awarded at the ''Tax Card and Best Taxpayer Award'' ceremony at the Officer's Club on Wednesday (Dec 28) afternoon.

Safwan Sobhan receives Global Leader of the Year 2021-22 Award

Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan has won Global Leader of the Year 2021-22 for his outstanding leadership and efficiency in running the business.

The award was handed over to him at the 17th Edition of the Asia-Europe Business & Social Forum 2022 held at London Marriott Hotel.

Bashundhara Group gets int’l recognition for CSR excellence

Bashundhara Group has been recognised as the best conglomerate by an international magazine for its excellence in corporate social responsibilities (CSR).

UK-based finance and business magazine ‘The Global Economics' published the list featuring Bashundhara Group as the ‘Best CSR Conglomerate’.

The magazine has taken into consideration different social activities of Bashundhara Group for socio-economic development of rural economy and welfare of the country’s people for giving the recognition.

The activities include making contribution to ensuring welfare of the people during the coronavirus pandemic, providing medical services like free eye treatment and education opportunities for the underprivileged and intellectually disabled children of the country.

Bashundhara Tissue gets Best Brand Award for 5th time

Bashundhara Tissue, one of the flagship products of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, has received the Best Brand Award 2022 for the 5th consecutive term.

Bangladesh Brand Forum in partnership with Nielsen Bangladesh and Daily Star arranged the Best Brand Award at its 14th ceremony held at Le Meridien Dhaka on Saturday (Dec 24).

Bashundhara tissue received the best award for the fifth consecutive terms for being quality and popular product to the consumers.

Bashundhara LPG gets Best Brand Award for 3rd time

Bashundhara LPG has won the ‘Best Brand Award’ for the third consecutive term for maintaining quality in products and services.

The award-giving ceremony was organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum at Le Meridien Dhaka Saturday night.

Bashundhara cement has been used in the country's first ever Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 project as the sole supplier.

11 get Bashundhara Media Award-2021 for investigative reporting

Eleven journalists were given ‘Bashundhara Media Award 2021’ for their in-depth investigative reporting on Monday evening.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud handed over the awards to the journalists at a much-anticipated gala ceremony, the first of its kind in the country, this evening.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was chief guest in the event which was chaired by ‘Bashundhara Media Awards 2021’ Organising Committee Convener and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

Meanwhile, special honours were bestowed upon 64 newsmen of the country for their contributions to journalism at the grassroots. Each of them received cash, honorarium and scarves.

Patients got free treatment from Bashundhara Eye Hospital

Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute (BEHRI), an ophthalmic venture of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, has provided free treatment to many insolvent patients in 2022.

Bashundhara Group pays back default loans of 37 farmers

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, has paid back the default borrowings of 37 farmers of Pabna.

Noted author and Kaler Kantho editor-in-chief Imdadul Haq Milan handed over cheque to Jharna Prova Devi, acting manager of the Pabna branch of the Samabaya Bank.

The whole amount of dues including capital and interest was paid back at a programme at the daily Kaler Kantho auditorium at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital Dhaka.

A special day for special children

The children with neurodevelopment challenge thrilled up with joy as Bashundhara Special Children Foundation hosted a get-together for them with friends, parents and teachers.

Some 115 kids participated in the programme styled ‘Eso Mili Sobe Praner Utsabe’ at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters-2 in the capital.

Bashundhara Group Director and Bashundhara Special Children Foundation Chairman Yeasha Sobhan initiated the day to develop talent of differently abled children and motivate them to move forward.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan were present as special guests on the occasion.

There were displayed handicrafts made by children, hand printed saris, jewellery, bags, various paintings are displayed in the event.

Dedicated persons associated with Bashundhara Special Children Foundation were also given awards at the function.

Bashundhara Special Children Foundation started its journey on March 1, 2017 in Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital as a charity organisation for underprivileged children.

Bashundhara brings new hope to the capital market

Bashundhara Group always took fearless initiatives for the development of the country. The top Business Conglomerate took the country's economy one step advance by officially starting its journey as a strategic partner of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

Bashundhara unfolded revolutionary chapter for gold industry

Jewellery business started to get a new shape in the country under the leadership of Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

Bashundhara Group is already moving ahead with the gold refinery project. The international market would soon see "Made in Bangladesh" written Gold this year.

He is giving efforts to bring gold traders under one umbrella. As a result, BAJUS membership has reached 40,000. The representative conference is being held in every district of the country to bring all the gold traders under one umbrella in a bid to prevent smuggling apart from establishing transparency and accountability.

BAJUS is moving ahead with the goal of making gold traders self-sufficient through exports, bringing them on the right track with VAT-Tax and contributing to the GDP by bringing in foreign remittances. That is why all legitimate gold dealers, jewelers are being given BAJUS stickers and ID cards, so that they don't face any kind of harassment.

BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir has expressed optimism that the Bashundhara Gold Refinery Limited will go into production in March this year.

Calling upon all to keep trust in the government and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bashundhara Group MD said something good will happen in the days to come.
