Three industrial units of Bashundhara Group at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) were inaugurated on Sunday.
The companies -- Bashundhara Chemical Industries Limited, Bashundhara Multi Steel Industries and Bashundhara Pre-fabricated Building Manufacturing Industries – will be set up on around 500-acre of land.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the business facilities through a videoconferencing from her official residence Ganabhaban in Dhaka, reports Daily Sun.
The premier inaugurated foundation stone of 50 industries and infrastructure of economic zones under Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA), marking the Golden Jubilee of the country's Independence and the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The country's largest industrial city, BSMSN being constructed in an area of 30,000 acres of land in Mirsarai and Sitakunda upazilas of Chattogram and Sonagazi upazila of Feni,
The Shilpa Nagar also opened its administrative building, 20 kilometer long Sheikh Hasina Sarani, 230 KVA gridline and a substation.
Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman Fazlur Rahman, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Chittagong-1 MP Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Beza Executive Chairman Shaikh Yusuf Harunm and Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan spoke on the occasion.
