BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee said, ‘A recent UN report said that the fascist government has violated human rights in Bangladesh. It killed the country’s students on the direct orders of Sheikh Hasina. The UN has requested the Bangladesh government to file a case with the International Crimes Tribunal. This is important for the country right now. The UN report is documentary evidence. The Bangladesh government must preserve this document. The misdeeds, disappearances, murders and corruption committed by that government must be recorded in textbooks to inform future generations.”
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the award ceremony of the annual sports competition of Laharkandi High School in Lakshmipur at around 11 am on Sunday.
Anee also said, “Hasina has nothing left to destroy our way of life, image and country that she has not done as power was everything to her. To keep the power permanent, they have disappeared and murdered one after another. We are hopeful that a good election will be held in the country very soon under normal rules. The people's government will be established. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will lead that government, InshaAllah. Then we will make arrangements to put the historical document of the United Nations in the textbooks of the future.”
He said, “The patriotism that has awakened in the new generation is worth feeling. It inspires us. Especially in the July Movement, they did not back down even after being shot from helicopters. They were targeted and shot dead from helicopters. The history of all martyrs including Abu Sayeed, Mugdho, Afnan of Laxmipur, Sabbir should be recorded in the textbooks.”
