Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said China's role in Bangladesh's development initiatives is undeniable.
“We expect China to play a more active role in the development of Bangladesh's education and technology sectors in the future,” he said.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a winter clothing distribution ceremony courtesy of the Chinese Embassy in the Wami Complex area adjacent to Shafipur Bazar in Kaliakoir Upazila of Gazipur on Sunday morning. Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen was present as a special guest at the ceremony.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer said there is a need to build a modern academy to teach Chinese language. Providing assistance to the poor people is a great work. May Allah change their fate so that they can help others in the future.
At the same time, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen praised the humanitarian activities of Jamaat-e-Islami and said, “The orphanages and educational institutions run with the support of Jamaat are a blessing for poor and orphaned children. In the future, China is interested in providing training opportunities to these students in China.”
He also mentioned that China wants to work in various development sectors including medical, education and power generation in Bangladesh.
“We will stand by Bangladesh's overall development. The year 2025 is the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh. This relationship will be even stronger.”
Later, the chief guest and the Chinese ambassador distributed winter clothes and food items among thousands of underprivileged people of Kaliakoir. The Chinese ambassador handed over winter blankets to everyone at this time. In addition, packets of various food items including oil, flour, rice, pulses, sugar were handed over by Jamaat-e-Islami.
