Three people died from electrocution in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Sudorsho Kumar Debu, 14, Milon Lal, 35, and Mohammad Mobarok, 24.
Bhairab Police Station Sub-Inspector Rajib Ahammed confirmed the matter to the media.
Eyewitness Swapan Harijan said six people were injured as they came in contact with the main electric wire while they were relocating an electric pole at the Horizon colony at noon.
Injured were rushed to Bhairab upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared three of them dead.
Bhairab Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Sadikur Rahman Sabuj said financial assistance will be given to the deceased’s families.
“Legal action will be taken if any irresponsible role is found in this tragic death”, he asserted.
