Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said Bangladesh will never be like Sri Lanka or Pakistan, but a developed country.
He made the claim while speaking at a discussion marking National Mourning Day as the chief guest.
Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (SWACHIP) arranged the discussion at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital.
Obaidul Quader said due to the tough condition of the world economy, people are suffering from the price hike of daily commodities.
But, he expects the situation will not last long.
The senior leader of the party urged everyone to keep confidence in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as she is moving the country forward despite the unfavorable economic situation.
