Jewellers have lowered the price of gold by Tk2,519 to Tk1,36,189 per bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market amid a tariff drop on ‘pure gold’.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Tuesday.
The new tariff will come into effect on Wednesday (November 13).
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk1,36,189 per bhori, while it is Tk1,29,995 for 21-carat gold, read a press release signed by the committee chairman, Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk1,11,426 per bhori, while that of traditional gold is at Tk91,411 per bhori.
On the other hand, the price of 22-carat silver is Tk2,578 per bhori, while Tk,2449 for 21-carat silver per bhori, Tk2,111 for 18-carat silver, and Tk1,586 for per bhori traditional silver.
