Commenting that India has proven itself a fascist by giving space to a fascist, BNP vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “We consider India a friend country, but does India consider Bangladesh a friend country?”
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at a civic rally protesting the persecution and killing of Muslims in India organized by the ‘Desh Bachao Manush Bachao Andolan’ in front of the National Press Club on Saturday.
He said,” It is very difficult to say that India is a friend country to Bangladesh because of what India is doing. It has given space to Sheikh Hasina, a looter, a genocidal force induced the destruction of Bangladesh. India cannot claim itself as a democratic country in this way.”
Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “We have stopped the fascist. She (Sheikh Hasina) has no place in our country. We have driven her out. She did not just flee to India to save her life; rather her real address is India. We also defeated Hossain Mohammad Ershad. But he did not go to India. He went to jail.”
He said, “We have to remain united. India is provoking us in various ways. India has not only kept the power that destroys democracy in our country, but has also destroyed the electoral system. India proved through three elections by Sheikh Hasina that there is no electoral system in Bangladesh. She (Sheikh Hasina) has committed fraud in the name of elections.”
BNP chairperson advisor Abdus Salam, Bangladesh Labor Party chairman Lion Faruk Rahman, Jagpa vice president Rashed Pradhan, Muktijoddha Dal organizing secretary Lion Mia Md. Anwar, former Krishak Dal office secretary SK Sadi, among others, also spoke at the civic rally, chaired by Desh Bachao Manush Bachao Andolan president KM Rakibul Islam Ripon.
