Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase the price of gold in the domestic market by Tk1,750 per bhori on Thursday.
The information was disclosed through a notification signed by the BAJUS standing committee chairman MA Hannan Azad.
The new rate will be effective from Friday (November 18), said the notification.
According to the new rate, every bhori of 22-carat gold will cost Tk 84,214, which was previously Tk 82,464.
The price of 21-carat gold will be Tk 80,364 per bhori while 18-carat gold is Tk 68,934 per bhori and traditional gold is Tk 56,687 per bhori.
Meanwhile, silver prices will remain unchanged.
Twenty-two-carat silver now costs Tk 1,516 per bhori, 21-carat Tk 1,435 per bhori, 18-carat Tk 1,225 per bhori and traditional silver Tk 933 per bhori.
