Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday witnessed an upward trend as major indices were found rising with higher activities of some large-cap securities.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the country’s prime bourse, closed the day with 26.47 points up at 6,175, reports BSS.
Two other indices also edged higher. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 4.91 points to finish at 2,199 and the DSES, the Shariah Index advanced 5.22 points to close at 1,350.
Out of the day's 380 securities, prices of 168 securities closed higher against 82 losing issues.
The day's trade value at the DSE increased to Tk 6,444.53 million from Thursday's Tk 5,837.70 million and the daily trade also rose to 16.71 crore shares from 16.03 crore in the previous session.
Beximco topped the turnover list followed by Sonali Paper, Fortune, Malek Spinning and Intraco.
On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 0.36 points up at 1,325.81.
Out of 263 issues were traded, 102 advanced and 68 declined.
