The incumbent government has appointed seven new members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, as announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday, according to BSS.
The new members are Dr. Ferdous Arfina Osman, professor of the Dhaka University; Shabbir Ahmad Chowdhury, retired officer from foreign service; Md Munir Hossain, retired police officer; Dr. Shahnaz Sarkar, professor of Bangladesh Agriculture University; Professor Dr. A.M. Farid Uddin Ahmed, BCS health cadre officer; Sharif Hossain, professor of Dhaka University; and Brig Gen (Retd) Md Anwarul Islam.
The notifications said that the members would hold office as a member of the BPSC until the completion of five years from the date of their assumption of office, or until they reach their age of 65, whichever occurs earlier.
With these new members, the total members of PSC rose to 15.
