BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said if students form a new political party with the help of the state and the administration, the countrymen will become disappointed.
He made the remarks while addressing the rally of Teachers-Employee Oikya Jote on Saturday afternoon.
Tarique Rahman joined the rally virtually from London.
“If anyone takes state and administrative assistance to form a political party, it will disappoint the people. Or, if their behaviour and speeches to other political parties seem quarrelsome or vindictive, that will also be unwanted to the people,” said the BNP leader.
He also expressed worry about the skyrocket of the daily essentials and imposed additional VAT on some products.
Tarique Rahman said it is more important to maintain the livelihood of the people than reformations and elections.
Welcoming the formation of the new political party by the students, he said students should avoid envying other political parties.
The BNP acting chairman also expressed optimism that youths will go forward on clear paths by avoiding criticism.
