A writ was filed at the High Court on Tuesday, pleading for its direction to probe allegations of corruption against National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) chairman.
Supreme Court lawyer Md Kamal Hossain filed the writ, making officials concerned, including the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman and the Education Secretary respondents.
Kamal Hossain said, "NCTB has given work order for printing books without calling for fresh tender, even though the owners of the printing presses have submitted tender at about 21 percent more than the estimated price."
The pleader also said, by giving the work order, NCTB has wasted state money.
He registered an application with the ACC first and later filed the writ at the High Court.
