BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday claimed that terrible misrule is going on in the country.
“A horrible misrule is going on in the country. Journalists cannot publish their opinion properly. In this situation, the write-ups of poet Nazul Islam are inspiring us every moment and giving us the courage to fight against the misrule,” he said.
Rizvi came up with the observation after paying rich tribute to the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by placing a floral wreath at his grave beside the University of Dhaka in the morning on behalf of the party.
He said, “There are no rights of the people. We are fighting for the last 14-15 years to re-establish these rights. Nazul had protested the misrule of the then ruler through his writings. For this, he was landed in jail and tortured.”
The BNP spokesperson also said although Bangladesh is a liberated country, there is no freedom of speech and movement. In this context, Nazrul is relevant.
