Eleven fishermen went missing as their trawler capsized at Nazirartek Channel in the Bay of Bengal on Friday as the weather marked low over Northeast Bay.
Fortunately, seven out of 18 fishermen were rescued alive.
Confirming the matter, Jamal Hossain, elder brother of the owner of ‘FB Mayer Dua’ trawler, said the trawler capsized due to a storm in the sea.
The country’s maritime ports have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal three as the weather marked low over Northeast Bay, said the weather department on Friday.
All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, it added.
