Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Thursday launched its maiden flight on the Dhaka-Guangzhou-Dhaka routes.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali inaugurated the flights at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital in the morning.
Biman Bangladesh Managing Director and CEO Md Zahid Hossain and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming were present at the launching ceremony.
The first flight of the national flag carrier, BG366, took off from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11 am with 229 passengers on board and it is scheduled to land at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport at 4:45 pm (Local time).
Tanveer Ahmed, Public Relations Officer of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, confirmed the matter to the media.
The return flight, BG367, will take off from the Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou at 7:45 pm (Local time) and will reach Dhaka at 9:30 pm, he added.
Passengers can purchase tickets for this route from any sales center in Bangladesh Biman.
However, the returning passengers will have to book flights on the website www.biman-airlines.com or any Biman-approved travel agency.
