The country’s maritime ports have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal three to alert vessels of a possible squall as a low-pressure area has formed over Northeast Bay and adjoining areas, said the weather department on Thursday.
All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, it added.
In the latest bulletin, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, a low-pressure area has formed over Northeast Bay and adjoining areas. It is likely to intensify.
Under its influence deep convection is taking place over North Bay and adjoining areas. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
