Planning Minister MA Mannan has said the government is considering importing fuel oil from Russia to meet the ongoing demand in the country.
He revealed the information after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday.
“We will buy fuel oil from Russia to resolve the current crisis across the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said if India can buy fuel oil from Russia, then why not Bangladesh,” he said.
The minister also said the Prime Minister has directed the authorities concerned to bring to book the responsible persons in the BRT girder accident in the capital’s Uttara which claimed five lives and injured two others.
