Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir has said that there is no place to intimidate a country like Bangladesh with barbed wire now. People in Bangladesh are not afraid of barbed wire, neither is the government. Where we need to speak, we will speak.
He said these things while talking to media personnel at the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
The Foreign Affairs Advisor said,”During the Hasina government's regime, we have seen many people being shot dead or hung on barbed wire at the border. But, the border will never come to that pattern, God willing. And if someone wants to draw a border in that pattern, then remember— this Bangladesh is not a Bangladesh of slaves, who would just sit and watch. Bangladesh has a plan on what to do.”
Stating that neighboring countries must maintain regional peace, he said, “We want dialogue with neighboring countries, where we all want to be in a 'balanced' place. However, there will definitely be challenges, there are and there will be. For example, Sheikh Hasina, the terrorist who killed 1,500 people and fled, is now in shelter in India. However, we have told the Indian government that Sheikh Hasina should not conduct any terrorism in Bangladesh while sitting in India, and the Indian government has promised that.”
Regarding the formation of the new government in West Bengal, Humayun Kabir said, "Primarily, our relationship will be with the central government. We do not want to interfere in their internal politics."
Regarding the recent visit to China, he said, "The visit to China was successful. There has been good progress in the discussions on Teesta, positive discussions have taken place."
He also said that China's Exim Bank has expressed interest in financing at that time.
