Australia’s corporate regulator said on Wednesday that it issued infringement notices totalling A$792,000 (US$570,715) to four entities within Canva for failing to lodge financial reports for the 2024 fiscal year on time, reports Reuters.
The companies—Canva Pty, Canva Operations Pty, Canva Trading Pty and Fusion Books Pty—each paid A$198,000 in penalties for missing the filing deadline of April 30, 2025.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission said Canva Pty later submitted its consolidated 2024 financial report covering the four entities on March 27, 2026.
“We take our reporting obligations seriously and regularly share public updates on our business and growth,” a Canva spokesperson said.
“We are now fully up to date on all lodgements and have strong processes in place to maintain this going forward.”
Canva has been preparing for a potential public listing, with the company launching an employee share sale in August 2025 that valued it at around US$42 billion at the time. The number of shares offered was not disclosed.
Founded in 2013, Canva is a web-based design platform that allows users to create materials such as invitations, social media posts and presentations.
