Taiwan’s Foxconn announced the successful launch of its second-generation low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, PEARL-1A and PEARL-1B, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from California on Sunday. This marks the company’s latest venture into space technology, reports Reuters.
The two satellites have entered their designated orbits and will carry out on-orbit missions for the next five years, Foxconn stated.
Primarily designed to verify communication and space science payload technologies, the PEARL-1A and PEARL-1B satellites represent Foxconn’s growing presence in the space industry.
