Bangladesh carried their dominant form from the Mirpur Test into Sylhet, completing a historic whitewash over Pakistan with a commanding 78-run victory in the second and final Test of the two-match series.
The triumph marked the first time Bangladesh have whitewashed Pakistan in a Test series on home soil.
Chasing a target of 437 runs, Pakistan ended the fourth day on 317 for 7, still needing 120 runs for victory. Bangladesh, meanwhile, required just three wickets on the final day and wrapped up the match to seal the memorable series sweep.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan was on his way to a century, but he was denied by Shariful Islam. Rizwan scored 94 runs before offering a catch to Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Pakistan could have made history by chasing a big target of 437 runs in the Sylhet Test. But instead, Bangladesh made history as Pakistan lost their last three wickets quickly on the fifth day and were all out.
For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam claimed six wickets, while Nahid Rana took two. Shariful Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up one wicket each.
At the start of the Sylhet Test, Bangladesh posted 278 runs in their first innings, powered by a century from Litton Das. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 232, giving the hosts a 46-run lead.
In the second innings, Bangladesh added 390 runs, setting a target of 437. However, Pakistan were all out for 358, falling short of the target.
Litton Das was named Player of the Match, while Mushfiqur Rahim was awarded Player of the Series.
