Ex-Bangladesh spinner Abdur Razzak is set to return to the Bangladesh Cricket Board as a coach, joining the board’s High Performance (HP) Unit from June.
He confirmed the development to cricket-based website Cricbuzz on Monday.
Razzak had earlier been elected as a board director under the board led by Aminul Islam Bulbul and also served on several important BCB committees. However, the National Sports Council recently removed Bulbul’s board after declaring it illegal and formed a new ad-hoc committee.
Under the new committee, the former left-arm spinner is now returning to the BCB in a coaching role. According to Cricbuzz, he will work with the HP Unit.
“Yes, we have discussed it and I am supposed to join in June,” Razzak told the media outlet.
The BCB is currently planning to restructure its HP Unit. As part of the process, national team senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin has been appointed head of the unit and is expected to assume the role after the ongoing series against Pakistan.
