Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed his 18th five-wicket haul in Test cricket as Bangladesh secured a 27-run first innings lead after Pakistan were bowled out for 386 on the third day of the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, reports Daily Sun.
Taijul Islam bowled Hasan Ali to end Pakistan's innings in the 101st over, with Bangladesh having posted 413.
Azan Awais marked his debut with a brilliant 103, while Abdullah Fazal, Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan all contributed half-centuries.
Pakistan built three century partnerships, making Bangladesh's hard-fought lead all the more valuable.
Miraz finished with five wickets as the surface increasingly assisted turn and bounce in the final session, removing Fazal, Saud Shakil, Noman Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi among his victims.
Taskin Ahmed took two wickets in the morning, including the prized scalp of Azan — his 50th Test wicket — making him only the third Bangladesh pacer after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shahadat Hossain to reach the landmark.
Bangladesh will now look to extend their advantage in the second innings with two days remaining.
