Pakistan clawed their way back into the first Test against Bangladesh before rain brought an early end to the third day's afternoon session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha shared a defiant 119-run sixth wicket stand to drag Pakistan to 349 for six, with the visitors now trailing Bangladesh's first innings total of 413 by just 64 runs.
Salman, who survived a Taskin Ahmed no-ball before opening his account, went on to reach fifty off 78 balls and remained unbeaten at the crease.
Rizwan fell for 50, caught at mid-off by Mahmudul Hasan Joy off Taijul Islam, moments before rain swept across Mirpur.
Earlier, Taskin had dismissed overnight centurion Azan Awais for 103 to claim his 50th Test wicket, becoming only the third Bangladesh pacer after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shahadat Hossain to reach the landmark.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz later joined the party and took two wickets in the morning session.
