Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh has finally received his visa clearance to join the ODI team ahead of the second match of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Thursday.
Naim was initially selected in the ODI squad but missed the opening match due to visa complications. In his absence, T20I opener Parvez Hossain Emon stayed back with the ODI side as a backup opener. With the visa issue now resolved, Naim is set to travel to the UAE tonight (October 10) and link up with the rest of the Bangladesh squad ahead of Saturday’s fixture.
Another player, Soumya Sarkar, had also faced similar visa complications earlier and was unable to join the camp despite being called up for the T20I series against Afghanistan earlier this month.
