The West Indies have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh. The Caribbean team will compete in six white-ball matches against Bangladesh, starting with a three-match ODI series beginning on October 18, followed by the T20I matches from 27 October, reports the Daily Sun.
Shai Hope has been appointed as captain of both squads, alongside players such as Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, and Brandon King, who are also included in both formats.
There is a maiden ODI call-up for former West Indies Under-19 captain Ackeem Auguste, with experienced top-order batter Evin Lewis to skip the tour as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury.
The fixtures will play a crucial role in the West Indies' preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup next year and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2027. Coach Daren Sammy is enthusiastic about the prospects.
“The squad assembled will strive to maintain a winning mentality and strong team cohesion, essential components for long-term success ahead of the (2027) World Cup," Sammy stated
