Following the conclusion of the BCB elections, attention has now turned to the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which the new board plans to stage as scheduled in December and January.
The newly appointed BPL secretary, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, confirmed the decision after a meeting with the organizing committee.
BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul will also serve as the chief of the BPL Governing Council. However, with only a few months remaining, the franchises have yet to be finalized, raising concerns about preparation. Event management company IMG has been tasked with organizing the tournament, though little visible progress has been made.
Rahat Shams of the BCB Grounds Committee assured that efforts are underway to ensure the event takes place on time although the previous edition faced major organizational challenges, including franchise payment issues and unsettled player dues.
