Bangladesh Test vice-captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz is likely to return to the playing XI for the second and final Test against Sri Lanka at the SSC in Colombo.
Miraz, who missed the opening Test in Galle due to illness, resumed training with the team ahead of Day 3.
The off-spinning all-rounder’s absence was felt in the Galle Test, where Bangladesh opted to include opener Anamul Haque Bijoy as a replacement. However, Bijoy failed to make an impact, falling for a duck in the first innings.
Miraz’s return is expected to bolster both the bowling attack and the lower-middle order, especially on a pitch in Colombo that typically offers more assistance to spinners.
The second Test begins on June 25.
