Bangladesh reached 423 for 4 in 130.2 overs before rain and bad light forced an early Tea break on Day Two of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 159, while Litton Das was on 61*, their partnership worth 114 runs.
The pair dominated the afternoon, adding runs fluently and surviving key chances.
Mushfiqur narrowly escaped an lbw dismissal after Sri Lanka reviewed a Milan Rathnayake delivery. Ball-tracking showed it would have clipped the leg stump, but the decision stayed with the on-field umpire as it was umpire’s call.
As the Sri Lankan fielders appealed, Mushfiqur and Liton stole three runs.
Earlier, Mushfiq reached his 150 with a boundary off Tharindu Rathnayake—his seventh score of 150+ in Tests. Litton, under pressure after a prolonged lean run, brought up a much-needed half-century, his first in 26 international innings across formats.
Both batters had nervy moments—Litton was dropped on 14, and Mushfiq survived a run-out chance on 126—but Sri Lanka failed to capitalize.
Rain began falling soon after the lbw drama, with play paused just after 2:00 pm local time. With the outfield quickly covered, the teams headed in for Tea, hoping for a restart later in the day.
