Zimbabwe went to tea on day 2 at 213 for 6 in 64 overs, taking a 22-run lead over Bangladesh’s first-innings total of 191.
Despite losing key wickets in the second session, the visitors edged ahead through a composed knock from Sean Williams, who scored 59 off 108 balls with six fours and two sixes.
Williams’ counterattacking approach helped Zimbabwe recover from early blows, but his dismissal—caught by Mahmudul Hasan Joy at long-off while attempting a big shot off Mehidy Hasan Miraz—halted the momentum. Wesley Madhevere added 24 before being bowled by Khaled Ahmed, ending a valuable 48-run stand.
Bangladesh bowlers kept things tight. Hasan Mahmud was unlucky not to pick up Mayavo early after a tough chance was put down at slip.
Nahid Rana, the pick of the bowlers in the morning, remained steady but went wicketless in the session.
Nyasha Mayavo is unbeaten on 13, with Wellington Masakadza yet to score. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam struggled, going for 35 runs in 5 overs post-lunch.
With four wickets in hand, Zimbabwe will look to stretch their lead in the final session, while Bangladesh aim to wrap things up quickly.
