Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Dinajpur Government College unit organised a discussion meeting, poetry recitation, and Rabindra Sangeet performance to celebrate the 165th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on Thursday.
The event focused on the life, works, and literary contributions of the legendary poet, who elevated Bangla literature to global recognition.
Prof Md Lutfar Rahman, principal of Dinajpur Government College, attended the programme as the chief guest. Special guests included Prof Md Kamrul Hasan, vice-principal of the college, and Md Zahirul Islam, adviser to the Bashundhara Shuvosangho college unit.
Prof Md Lal Mia, head of the Bangla Department at the college, delivered the keynote speech, while the session was chaired by Md Delowar Hossain, chief adviser of the organisation’s college unit.
During the discussion, participants exchanged views on strengthening and expanding the activities of the organisation and also discussed preparations for the upcoming divisional conference.
