A health awareness seminar was held in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj on Wednesday with the aim of increasing students’ health consciousness and building a healthy, informed and responsible generation.
Siddhirganj Thana unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised the seminar at the premises of Motherland International School.
The discussion focused on maintaining hygiene, personal cleanliness, proper dietary habits, regular handwashing practices and various aspects of health protection in daily life.
Speakers at the event said that a student’s physical and mental well-being plays a vital role in academic success as well as in building the foundation for future life. They stressed the importance of developing health awareness from an early age.
They further noted that in the current context, awareness is essential to prevent various diseases and health risks, and it is important to ensure that students develop a proper understanding of these issues.
The speakers also advised students to maintain good health through regular handwashing, cleanliness, safe drinking water and nutritious food. They added that such habits can also positively influence families and society.
Students participating in the programme said they benefited from the seminar and expressed interest in applying the lessons in their daily lives.
The seminar was conducted under the guidance of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka Metropolitan coordinator Abdul Hannan Milton, and the leadership of Siddhirganj Thana unit president Khan Shahriar Faisal and general secretary Samida Alam.
Members of the organisation, including Yasin Arafat, Lamia Islam and Shahnur Akter Shanu, were also present at the event.
