The streaming platform Hoichoi has released the first web series "Rangila Kitab," starring Dhaka's glamorous actress Pori Moni.
Within the first two days of its release, the 8-episode series has created a buzz among viewers, with Pori Moni playing the lead role.
After watching the series, audiences are commenting that they’ve seen a new side of Pori Moni. Many were surprised by her portrayal of the character Supti, as they have never seen her in such a role or with such mature acting before. She has redefined herself, offering a fresh take with a remarkable performance.
‘Rangila Kitab’was directed by Anam Biswas, stars Mostafizur Noor Imran as Pradeep and Pori Moni as Supti. The series tells the story of their happy marriage in a small town, which is torn apart by false accusations and Pradeep's past. As Supti, who is pregnant, tries to flee the trouble with her husband, the story unfolds.
This was Pori Moni's first project after becoming a mother, and her debut in the web series world with ‘Rangila Kitab’. She has seamlessly portrayed the role of the pregnant Supti, drawing from her own experiences, and has made a strong impression on the audience with her debut performance.
Regarding the response to ‘Rangila Kitab’, Pori Moni shared, "I had been waiting for a project like this. Initially unsure about playing such a character, I eventually embraced the challenge and now feel fulfilled. To truly experience Supti, you must watch ‘Rangila Kitab’ with your heart."
She added, "When I first heard about the series, I wasn’t thinking about work as my baby was just 1-2 months old. But a year later, the role of Supti came to me, and I feel blessed. I’m happy with my performance, though the audience will decide. The positive feedback so far has made me very satisfied."
In addition to Pori Moni, Mostafizur Noor Imran also delivered a strong performance, ensuring the story's flow. Fazlur Rahman Babu added depth to the series, while Manoj Pramanik demonstrated his skills. Iresh Zaker and Shimul Sharma made notable contributions with their brief but strong performances. ‘Rangila Kitab’ is based on Kingkor Ahsan's novel of the same name.
