A total of 73,182 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia so far through 189 Hajj flights.
According to the daily bulletin from the IT helpdesk of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Hajj portal released on Thursday, 18 pilgrims have died so far. Among them, 13 were men and 5 were women. Of the deceased, 13 died in Makkah and 5 in Madinah.
So far, 95 flights have been operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 69 by Saudia Airlines, and 25 by Flynas Airlines.
This year, the Hajj is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia on May 26.
A total of 78,500 Bangladeshis will perform Hajj this year, including 73,935 under private management and 4,565 under government management.
Flights to Saudi Arabia will continue until May 21. Return flights after Hajj will begin on May 30, and the final return flights are scheduled to conclude on June 30.
