Ruling BNP has filed a renewed complaint seeking investigation into allegations of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of 2,276 party leaders and activists.
BNP central committee member and coordinator on enforced disappearances, killings, and legal cases Mohammad Salauddin Khan submitted the complaint to the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday.
The complaint alleges that BNP and its affiliated leaders and activists were abducted, forcibly disappeared, and killed in “crossfire” incidents between 2008 and August 5, 2024. It also includes the case of BNP leader Ilias Ali among others.
BNP had previously filed a similar complaint on January 9, 2025. However, as no significant progress was made in the investigation, BNP has resubmitted the allegations.
The complaint also names former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and members of law enforcement agencies as accused in the incidents.
