Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie on Wednesday has said that the government will take a decision on Padma Barrage very soon.
He told reporters after a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
The Water Resources Minister said that the Padma Barrage is very necessary for Bangladesh. We will take a decision on the Padma Barrage very soon. The matter will be presented in the next ECNEC meeting.
He said that there have also been initial discussions on the Teesta Master Plan. And there have been discussions with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on what work will be completed in 180 days.
The minister said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will be going to Chandpur on May 16 as announced earlier. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a canal excavation program among many programs there. He also said that the Prime Minister will also visit Feni on May 25.
