Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance and Planning Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has said the government believes it is necessary to maintain respect for any agreement, including bilateral trade deals, with the United States.
He made the remarks at a briefing on Wednesday after a meeting with a US trade delegation led by Brendan Lynch at the Secretariat.
The adviser said the government is prioritizing national interests and aims to expand the market for Bangladeshi products in the United States.
He said discussions were held on how both countries can work together to diversify products, enhance competitiveness and boost productivity.
Titumir added that Bangladesh believes in inclusive, not exclusive, relations and that talks are ongoing to increase exports.
