Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said, “The government is determined to keep the country's road communication system normal and smooth. Especially, the roads that have been neglected and in a bad condition for a long time should be brought under the scope of rapid renovation and repair.”
He gave this instruction at a meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office in the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed the progress, problems and things to be done of various development projects implemented and ongoing under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in Pirojpur district.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed the concerned to quickly repair the roads of Pirojpur district and make them suitable for traffic. The Prime Minister emphasized on taking quick initiatives to reduce the suffering of the common people of Pirojpur. He directed the concerned departments to take quick effective steps in this regard.
The officials present at the meeting highlighted the previous progress and implementation status of LGED projects in Pirojpur district. At that time, the Prime Minister emphasized on taking forward development activities by ensuring transparency and accountability.
The meeting was attended by State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Member of Parliament for Pirojpur-2 constituency and State Minister for Public Works Ahmed Sohel Manjur, Member of Parliament for Pirojpur-1 constituency Masum Sayeedi, Member of Parliament for Pirojpur-3 constituency Ruhul Amin Dulal, Secretary of the Local Government Division Shahidul Hasan and concerned officials.
