Four more patients have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours in the country, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
The release said that 942 new suspected measles cases were identified across the country during the same period, while 86 cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
According to the statement, from March 15 to April 18, a total of 3,278 confirmed measles cases have been recorded, along with 22,409 suspected infections. During this time, 11,751 patients have recovered and returned home from hospitals.
Since March 15, a total of 35 people have died from confirmed measles, while 178 deaths have been reported among suspected cases.
The highest number of suspected cases has been reported in the Dhaka division, with 9,780 infections including 2,046 confirmed cases.
The DGHS said it is closely monitoring the situation and regularly collecting and analyzing data through its integrated control center. Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious while ensuring necessary medical treatment for patients.
