Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman said on Friday that his party would support the government on all just causes while firmly opposing injustice and any actions that undermine people’s rights.
Speaking at the District and Metropolitan Ameer Conference held at the Al-Falah Auditorium in the capital, he said the party’s position on matters of public interest was “clear and consistent.”
“We will support the government on all just causes, but will stand as a barrier against injustice and any deprivation of people’s rights, wherever it occurs,” he said.
The Jamaat chief also urged the government to respect and implement the outcome of the referendum, adding that the party would extend full cooperation in its execution.
