The Home Minister has said that two accused in the Hadi murder case have been arrested in India. The government is working to bring them back to the country. Necessary measures are being taken in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard.
He said, “It will be possible to bring them back to the country soon as per the bilateral agreement with Bangladesh on the extradition of accused from India. The Home Ministry has taken necessary steps in this regard.”
At the briefing, the Home Minister said, “It is not right to call all incidents 'mob'. Many are describing some isolated incidents as mob. However, the government is in no way condoning mob violence and is working to stop it.”
He also said, “An anti-terror operation will be launched across the country immediately after the month of Ramadan. No terrorist, extortionist or organized criminal will be outside the law. This is the government's promise and the people's expectation.”
He said, “The government is working so that the people of the country can live comfortably and the law and order situation can be made more comfortable for the people. The government's activities will continue to maintain good governance as per public expectations.”
In the briefing, the Home Minister said that the district administration has been instructed to evict all illegal establishments and shanty shops on the Cox's Bazar sea beach within the next week.
He said, “Cox's Bazar is an international tourist center. The sea beach must be brought under control and kept clean. Therefore, no shanty or polythene shops can be there.”
He also said, “The current government is taking a strict stance against drugs. The campaign against drug dealers will be intensified. At the same time, effective steps will be taken to stop online gambling across the country.”
