The Cabinet Division has published a gazette dissolving the current interim government. The gazette was published on the website of the Cabinet Division on Tuesday night.
It says that the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has decided to appoint Tarique Rahman, a member of parliament who enjoys the confidence of the majority of the members of the Thirteenth National Parliament, as the Prime Minister and has given his consent to the formation of a new government under his leadership in accordance with Article 56 (3) of the Constitution. With the formation of the new government, the Advisory Council of the current interim government will be deemed to have been dissolved.
In addition, a separate gazette has been published appointing Tarique Rahman as the Prime Minister.
Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani signed it on the President's order.
