Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Tuesday that his country is keen to boost ties with the new Bangladesh administration led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
“Thailand looks forward to working closely with your administration to further deepen our cooperation, especially in the areas of trade, investment, and connectivity, for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples,” Anutin said in a message.
He also congratulated Tarique Rahman, the BNP chief, on his party’s recent victory in the 13th parliamentary election.
“Accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” he added.
Tarique was sworn in as the country’s new prime minister on Tuesday afternoon. President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 4:15 pm.
