Tarique Rahman has been unanimously elected as the Leader of the House and Prime Minister by the Members of Parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The parliamentary party meeting of BNP was held at 11:30 am after the MPs took oath as Members of Parliament.
The meeting was presided over by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
According to schedule, President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath of office to the members of the new cabinet on Tuesday afternoon.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held at 4:00pm at the South Plaza of the Parliament building.
Kaniz Mowla, Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, said that the oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet members will take place at 4:00pm on Tuesday. Earlier in the morning, the oath-taking ceremony for Members of Parliament was held.
